Language of instruction Courses catalogue on internet English oad/courseunits/subjectlist/ Course selection The majority of Erasmus students are expected to take courses within the pre-agreed departmental exchange. If any courses are required outside this agreement these must be agreed BEFORE the student arrives. Students are expected to undertake a workload which is equivalent to that of a Manchester undergraduate studying for an honors degree: UK credits (50-60 ECTS) over an academic year, or UK credits (25 30 ECTS) for a single semester. Where students are undertaking a supervised project or work determined by their home university this should be clearly indicated with their learning agreement including an indication of ECTS Credits associated with the work. This can then be taken into consideration when determining the workload here at Manchester. Accommodation information Erasmus students coming for one full year are guaranteed university accommodation; their application form must be received by the Accommodation Office no later than 31 st July. Erasmus students coming for one semester MAY apply for university accommodation, however, as this is not guaranteed, we strongly advise looking at private sector housing. All information regarding accommodation can be found at: - for University housing for Private housing Application forms for university housing can be downloaded from the accommodation website. Please note that some subject areas eg. Law, Management, Medicine and Life Sciences require IELTS 7 or a minimum TOEFL score of 600 (250 on the computer-based test). Some subject areas will require students to provide evidence of English language ability. The University Language Centre offers pre-session courses in English Language throughout the summer as well as courses during the academic semester. These include a number of broader courses for students who wish to continue to improve their English within the context of learning more about Manchester life and culture, business English etc. uagecourses/ Orientation Additional Comments Orientation is held immediately before the start of each semester and we strongly encourage all Erasmus students to attend: ervices/orientationcourses/ Transcripts for Erasmus students are produced by the home department here at Manchester and not by the Study Abroad Unit.
